There are two methods that can be used to remove a participant from a Zoom meeting that you are hosting or co-hosting.
Method 1:
Step 1. While in your Zoom meeting, right click on the video square of the participant that you would like to remove. A drop down menu will appear.
Step 2. Select Remove from the dropdown menu. Choose ‘Remove’
Step 3. A pop-up notification will verify that you would like to remove the selected participant from the meeting. Click the redoption to permanently remove the selected participant from your meeting.
Step 4. The participant is removed from your meeting. They will be unable to rejoin the meeting:
- from the same device using any Zoom account
- using the same Zoom account on any other device.
The participant will receive a notification that tells them that the host has removed them from the meeting.
By default, participants who are removed from a Zoom meeting are able to join future Zoom meetings.
Method 2:
Step 1. While in your Zoom meeting, click on located on the bottom toolbar in the Zoom meeting window. The Participants side-panel will open.
Step 2. In the Participants list, hover your mouse over the name of the participant you would like to remove from your meeting. Abutton will appear.
Step 3. Click on thebutton and a fly-out menu will appear. Select ‘Remove’ from the menu.
Step 4. A pop up notification will verify that you would like to remove the participant from the meeting. Click the redoption to permanently remove the selected participant from you meeting.
Step 5. The participant is removed from your meeting. They will be unable to rejoin the meeting:
- from the same device using any Zoom account
- using the same Zoom account on any other device.
