Mute Email Conversations

Sometimes, you may be included on a conversation that isn't relevant to you, or you're not interested in. You can use Gmail's Mute function to hide these conversations.

To mute a conversation. select it in your inbox.

Click the three-dots icon in the top right corner, and choose Mute.

The conversation will disappear from your inbox immediately. You will not receive new mail notices or see the conversation again unless you unmute it.

Muting does not stop delivery of the conversation. To find the conversation again, you can do several things:

  • Search for the sender or content from the email
  • Find it under More > All Mail on the left
  • Search for "is:muted"
