Forwarding your SMCC Email to Another Email Account


This document provides step by step instructions on setting up your SMCC email to forward to a personal email account.


  1. Log into your SMCC Gmail account. 
  2. In the top right, click Settings.
  3. On the menu that drops down, click Settings.
  4. Click the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab.
  5. In the "Forwarding" section, click Add a forwarding address.
  6. Enter the email address you want to forward messages to.
  7. Click Next > Proceed > OK.
  8. Step 8. A verification message will be sent to the email address you have entered (the one you will be forwarding email to). Click the verification link in that message. Click Confirm on the page that opens.
  9. Go back to the settings page of your SMCC email and refresh your browser.
  10. Click the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab.
  11. In the "Forwarding" section, select Forward a copy of incoming mail to, and select the address you would like to forward email to. 
  12. Choose what you want to happen with the SMCC copy of your emails. We recommend “keep Southern Maine Community College Mail’s copy in the Inbox”.
  13. At the bottom of the page, click Save Changes.
