About the Information Technology Department
The Information Technology (I.T.) department is responsible for providing information technology services to the SMCC community. These services include telecommunications, hardware, software installation and support, planning and implementing systems and services. Most people think of us as the HelpDesk at SMCC, however, we are involved in all facets of technology at SMCC.
Our Mission Statement
The Information Technology Department is committed to excellence in the provision of IT services to the students, faculty and staff of the SMCC community.
We recognize that a first rate IT infrastructure serving the critical needs of our customers represents essential support for the college in serving the educational community. We are passionate about attaining customer satisfaction in all that we do in our provision of a dynamic, reliable and durable technology infrastructure including:
- Responsive Help Desk services;
- System development and maintenance;
- Implementing and maintaining communication systems and services;
- Computer hardware and application installation and maintenance for academic and administrative support functions;
- Consulting and training services;
- Planning, assessment, and innovation of IT services to meet present and future user needs.
We are dedicated to continuous improvement of all that we do so as to provide responsive service, state-of-the-art technology and system and communication design to meet the evolving needs of our customers.
